You can read about some query that people generally ask!

Mostly People Ask

  • What is an internist?

Internist doctors are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and medical treatment of adults. Internists are sometimes called medical internists, general internists, or adult specialists. They are considered to be primary care doctors because they often serve as the first line of defense against illness in adults.

  • An internist often works in hospitals caring for patients admitted for medical treatment. Internists may also work in outpatient clinics, providing primary care to adults.

  • It's generally recommended that adults see an internal medicine doctor (internist) at least once every two years for a checkup. However, there are some circumstances where you may need to see one more frequently.

  • No, an internist is not a family doctor. An internist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of internal diseases, while a family medicine doctor provides primary care for patients of all ages.

  • There is no right or wrong answer to this question - it depends on your specific needs and preferences. Internal medicine doctors typically have additional training than Family practitioners.

If you have a more complex condition, or one that requires specialized knowledge, we recommend seeing a doctor of internal medicine.

While family physicians are trained to provide primary care for all members of the family, from infants to seniors. They are also trained in a variety of common medical procedures, such as vaccinations and basic blood tests.
